Packing always requires a plan!
Each time I head out of town, I attempt to choose the perfect items to join me. Ranging from practical to fun, I make sure that my suitcase offers a mixture that represents my personal style. My list for this weekend includes some casual dresses in punchy colors, classically cut shorts paired with  a light, nautical sweater, and a great pair of skinny jeans to go with a pretty top. Mixed in with some active wear, lounge items and a few pairs of shoes, I would say I’m ready to hit the tarmac!
What are your go-to travel items? Do you make a packing list?

I could go for a little of this right now.  Beautiful weather. Fantastic views. TONS of history.
Anyone up for a trip somewhere exciting?

Today!

Today I leave for a short trip to Denver. I am so excited to spend time with my dear friends, celebrate the 80’s, toast recent accomplishments, ski the Rockies, and enjoy some fresh mountain air.

I will see you next week with photos, a renewed spirit and hopefully some hilarious stories. Happy Weekend!

This weekend has been wonderful for the following reasons:
Spending time with wonderful friends I don’t see often.
Trying a great brewery I had never heard of before.
Eating at new restaurants.
Laughing with great people.
Singing “That Thing You Do” at a bar.
Spending time with wonderful friends I don’t see often.*
*Yes, I know I said that already—it was so great, it is worth repeating!

Nothing reminds someone of a fun trip better than a great souvineer. I think this mug is adorable and just the right amount of Disney magic for the day to day.
Thanks, Mom and Dad. What a cute surprise!

Traveling

I absolutely love traveling. (Okay, I know. Everyone does.) I love early morning flights. I love people watching at the airport. I love getting a latte, opening a good book, and enjoying the anticipation. Getting to the destination isn’t half bad but boy, do I like the journey!

I’m leaving for sunny Florida this morning and cannot wait to spend a long weekend away. You will find me cheesin’ in some family photos, relaxing (well studying) on a pool chair, and enjoying a few libations with some of my favorite people.

Have a fantastic weekend!

10 days.

In just 10 days I will be winging my way south (with my mom—dad will meet us there!) to sunny Florida to watch my sister Lauren’s dance team compete in the UDA National Championships. Lauren coaches a middle school dance team and wowza—they are good!

There are several reasons why this short trip will be fantastic and they are listed in no particular order:

Family time. Sister time. A touch of Disney Magic. Great meals. Sun. Sandals. Airplane.

I cannot wait to spend some time with my family at one of our favorite places!

10 days.

Weekends and Wonderful Friends

Attending school in a different state was a great experience but I am saddened that it led to my dear friends living all over the country.

This weekend I had the chance to visit with several of my sorority sisters in Minnesota to celebrate an upcoming marriage. Starting the day off with a bridal shower, we had a chance to catch up and hear more about what’s going on in each other’s lives. The bachelorette portion of the day included cocktails, gifts, dinner, silliness, games and a bonfire. It was a great weekend which made me miss my girlfriends even more!

Looking forward, we have at least 6 more chances to see each other in 2011—hoots to wedding bonanza!
